E-Z Pool™ Care Guide

E-Z™ Pool Care Guide | E-Z™ Pool Spring Opening | E-Z™ Pool Winterizing

E-Z Pool™ is formulated for compatibility and use with traditional sanitizers.

Pre Conversion:

1. Brush walls and vacuum pool.
2. Treat with Sequesterant to remove metals, if applicable.
3. Treat with Phosphate remover, if high levels are present.
4. Clean filter thoroughly:
Sand – Replace sand or chemically clean with acid solution.
D. E. – Flush, chemically clean grids, re-charge.
Cartridge – Chemically clean existing element thoroughly.

Note: When converting from biguanide, filter media must be replaced and filter cleaned.

Conversion:

Note: If converting from biguanide, use flip-out!™, following package instructions.

  1. Balance the pool water to TA = 70-90 ppm, pH = 7.6, CH = 350-500 ppm.
    (E-Z Pool™ inhibits calcium scaling)
  2. Maintain free chlorine at 1.5 – 3 ppm for at least 24 hours prior to conversion.
  3. Dose with E-Z Pool™ according to the “Weekly Dosage Table” (see “How to Apply).
  4. Run on E-Z Pool™ for 7 – 10 days. Have Authorized Dealer check water balance
and clean filter media thoroughly, again:
Sand – Chemically clean and rinse well.
    D. E. – Flush, clean grids (if needed), and recharge.
Cartridge – Replace with new element or rinse thoroughly, if in good
condition (soaking should not be necessary).
  5. Follow “Routine Weekly Maintenance” instructions and monitor filter weekly:
    Sand – Backwash 1 – 3 minutes weekly.
    D. E. – Flush and recharge when pressure rises 5 – 10 psi.
Cartridge – Check or rinse weekly or when pressure rises 5 – 10 psi.

Application:

Vinyl Liners and Fiberglass Pools – Pour powdered compound slowly over a return jet while pump is running. Marsite or Plaster Surface Pools – Pre-dissolve product in a bucket (product first, then half full with water). Pour into deep end near return jets.

Weekly Maintenance:

E-Z Pool™ must be added on a weekly basis. Year round pools (unheated), reduce dose 50% during colder months (water under 70 degrees).

E-Z Pool™ and sanitizer should be maintained at a minimum 1.0 ppm “TC” (see testing).
We recommend beginning with one 3” sanitizer tablet per 12,000 gallons in a floater, feeder, or skimmer. Caution: Circulate pump continuously while tablets are in a skimmer.

Filter cleaning. The most important aspect of maintaining an E-Z Pool™ pool is regular cleaning of the filtration system. Keep in mind with E-Z Pool™ you are cleaning out more impurities. During swim season, monitor filter weekly. During winter (where applicable) monitor bi-monthly.

Proper pH Level: As E-Z Pool™ is consumed by removing impurities in water, the pH level will rise. Weekly dosage of E-Z Pool™ will help manage pH, generally floating it between 7.2 and 7.6.

Total Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness: After initial conversion and re-balancing (TA = 70-110
ppm and CH = 300-500 ppm), TA and CH should be monitored monthly. See Authorized Dealer.

Pool Brushing and Vacuuming: Pool should be brushed and/or vacuumed weekly to ensure all impurities are filtered. Larger particles will fall to the floor. E-Z Pool™ is compatible with all automatic pool cleaners.
